Dr. Norman Samuels

Dr. Samuels is an American citizen who was born and educated in Cape Town, South Africa. He received his medical degree from the University of Cape Town in 1951.
He received his surgical training in London, England and while at King's College Hospital passed the examinations to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Dr. Samuels has been a practising surgeon in South Africa, England, Canada, and the United States. He has been in private practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, since 1985.
Dr. Samuels is among the few surgeons in the United States who has restricted his practice to obesity surgery or surgical treatment for morbid obesity. He has been performing obesity surgery since 1984. He has performed thousands of operations for morbid obesity and is well known as the surgeon with the longest experience in South Florida and probably the whole State of Florida.
He has per formed many revisionary surgeries on patients who have had failed operations including gastric bypass and older operations such as vertical banded gastroplasty and intestinal bypass.
